Germany Packaging EPR & LUCID Compliance
If you ship physical goods to German consumers, you are legally classified as a "producer" (Hersteller) under 3 VerpackDG. PackFlow automates your material tracking, fraction aggregation, and official filing preparation.
The Three Pillars of German Packaging Compliance
6 LUCID Registration
Every seller shipping to German private final consumers must register in the ZSVR LUCID database before placing packaging on the market. PackFlow validates registration numbers format (DE + 13 digits) and tracks registered brand names.
7 Dual System Participation
Merchants must license packaging volumes with an approved Dual System operator (such as Der Grne Punkt, Interzero, BellandVision, Landbell, Reclay, etc.). PackFlow generates standardized volume worksheets for all major operators.
9 Data Reporting
Packaging quantities licensed with your dual system must be reported to the ZSVR LUCID register identically. PackFlow outputs official XML data filings matching ZSVR XSD schemas with exact numeric MaterialCodes.
The 7 Statutory Packaging Material Categories
German law strictly groups packaging into specific material fractions. PackFlow maps your physical product and transport materials into these required categories:
Critical Statutory Timelines
1 June (Annual)
All producers must submit their actual annual volume report for the preceding calendar year to the ZSVR LUCID register by 1 June.
15 May (If Thresholds Met)
Mandatory audited declaration only if annual volume reaches: 80,000 kg Glas, 50,000 kg PPK, or 30,000 kg Lightweight Packaging (LVP). PackFlow automatically evaluates whether you cross these limits.
